Printers and Monitors and Tablets

| Inkjet |
We have an HP DesignJet 130NR. It can print up to 24" wide on roll or sheet paper. It has built-in color calibration and does a fine job of creating consistent high quality prints.
We have acquired an HP Z3100. The built-in color profiler appears to work extremely well. Unlike the 130NR, it works with any paper, so we are now free to choose among the many specialty art papers.

| Color Laser |
HP2605DN. Not good enough for photo quality but it is excellent for color brochures. It is many times faster than the inkjet and the cost per page is much lower. |
| Monitor |
Lacie Colorvision II. This is one of the few LCD monitors that calibrate nicely and don't have any color or brightness shift when you move your head up or down while viewing. 1600x1400 pixels allow for looking at lots of detail while editing. |
| Calibrator |
I use the Pantone ColorVision Spyder2PRO. Getting consistent color with a lot of test prints is much easier if the monitor is color calibrated. If you can't see the correct colors on the screen they probably won't print correctly either! |
| Tablet |
The excellent Wacom tablet. There are no others to consider. Many tasks of photo editing are easier to do with a pen than with a mouse. |
